I have been on a six month plateau. My surgery was in Sept. 2010 and I did GREAT. I lost 170 lbs and felt so much better. I could breathe, sleep, and walk better. It was all going so well. Then I hit a plateau. I was letting up on my eating with good WL habits, increasing sugar consumption, not drinking protein drinks, eating past fullness etc. I was not gaining weight, but no longer losing either. I kept telling myself that I was done losing, after 14-15 months and was mostly okay with that because I felt so much better than I did before WLS. But truth is, I was going back to things I had done before I got this tool. Slowly I have been living out a belief I was carrying of "It wouldn't last". A prevailing belief I have had most of my life, without even knowing it was driving my decisions. I have been journaling and writing about how I was setting myself up and had to come to an abrupt eyeopening experience...I was no longer following program, and who was I cheating, but myself. I have shifted my focus to healthier choices, mindful eating, and following plan more consistently. I again thank Dr. Scott for taking a chance on me and performing this surgery, the WL support groups for being there, even when I was too stubborn to use them and SSM WLI for giving me back my life.

I had weightloss surgery a year ago and 1 month and I wouldn't trade it for a million years and wouldn't go anywhere else!! They are great!! I have lost 111lbs and 54.75ins in the time I had lap band surgery and now training for a half marathon and have already ran a 7K! Fabulous Place and Great!! 

SSM Weight Loss Institute is the Best! I had surgery in Dec 2009 and lost 140 pounds. I chose the Bypass option because I felt that I was too chicken to go back every so often and get the band adjusted one way or the other. I hate needles. I could not be happier with the results.
